What Microsoft says about Code Error 10?
If the device has a FailReasonString value in its hardware key, that string is displayed as the error message. The driver or enumerator puts this registry string value there. If there is no FailReasonString in the hardware key, you receive the following error message:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
What cause this error?
1) Incompatible, outdated, or corrupted device drivers
2) Collations in the memory allocations of the hardware devices. Or,
3) It could happen because of in complete uninstallation.

Solution :
1) Update/reinstall your driver.
1.1) Here are solution for those with Realtek AC97 Audio Hardware.
You need to install the Realtek AC97 Driver

2) Make sure you make a backup of files you delete in step 2(Simply copy the file you want to delete to
another directories in case something bad happen. For example, copy and paste the file on your desktop
so if theres unexpected error, you can just move the file back into c:windows/system32.
2.1) Open system32 folder and delete 3 line from bottom and install your driver again.
Open C: > Windows > System32 or Open Run windows(Windows button + r) and type
"c:windows/system32" and press enter.
Note : Solution 2 is reported to solve this issue for windows XP. Tell me if it works on other windows.
As you can see, various hardware may encounter this ERROR Code 10, so, Id be glad if some of you who found a fix for your own hardware which is not listed here to post it in comment section. This could help many of our friends out there.
